 Kelly Allen has spent her life serving others, first as a nurse for 43 years, then as a trusted local leader. She was first elected to public office in 2009 as a write-in candidate and has since served her community with steady leadership, sound judgment, and a deep respect for taxpayers.

Alamance County deserves leadership that is steady, fiscally responsible, and grounded in faith and integrity. I believe in careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, strong support for our emergency services and schools, and making decisions that benefit all residents, today and for generations to come.


I am running to continue serving this county with honesty, common sense, and a commitment to leaving Alamance County better than I found it.

Kelly Has a Record of Getting Things Done

 When Kelly Allen became Mayor of Haw River, the town faced significant financial challenges. Through persistence and collaboration, she worked directly with state leaders to secure critical funding and stabilize the town’s finances 

Results That Matter!

Secured major grants for infrastructure improvements.

Responsible for bringing the developers to the Cone "Granite" Mills to restore.

Expanded and strengthed fire department resources.

Helped place Haw River in its strongest financial position since the 1980's.

Worked collaboratively with town staff and state representatives to protect taxpayers.

Lifetime of care.  Kelly worked for 43 years as a nurse and served as Dr. Scott's primary nurse & managed Dr. Juengel's allergy department.

Kelly Allen - Rooted in This Community

Lifetime of Caring for Our Community

 Kelly graduated from Cummings High School in 1973 and ACC’s Nursing Program in 1974. She spent her nursing career caring for local families at Burlington Pediatrics and in allergy care, retiring after 43 years of service. 

Deep Roots in Alamance Co.

 She has lived in Haw River for 49 years and was raised in East Burlington. In 1976, she married her husband, Charles Allen, who served Haw River for 38 years as Public Works Director and was the longest-serving employee in the town’s history. After 48 years of marriage, Charles passed away suddenly in 2024. 

A Shared Commitment to Public Service

 Kelly continues to honor Charles' legacy through service, community pride, and dedication to public good.

Community Involvement
 

  • President, Haw River Museum (15 years)
  • Vice Chair, Piedmont Triad Council of Governments Executive Board 
  • Board Member, New Leaf Society
  • Volunteer reading buddy, lunch helper, and EOG testing proctor
  • Classroom volunteer at Turrentine Middle School
  • Purchased school supplies and backpacks for local students, including completing a back-to-school drive for Haw River Elementary and Grace and Peace Church
  • Active volunteer at the Haw River American Legion in support of local veterans
  • Led the creation of the new Haw River sign at the Highway 70 bypass entrance—completed at no cost to taxpayers through fundraising and in-kind donations
  • Regular supporter and attendee of community fundraisers and local nonprofit events
  • Served for four years as a two-year-old Sunday night teacher at Lamb’s Chapel
  • Personally maintains and beautifies public spaces, including planting flowers and maintaining landscaping at the corner of Highways 49 and 70
